The Sitges International Fantasy and Horror Film Festival of Catalonia opened its doors last Thursday October 4th until 14th.
The 45th edition of the International Fantasy Film Festival of Catalonia, Sitges 2012, shows hundreds of film screenings and exhibitions, European and other international releases, and its star sections. Once again, the best in Catalan and foreign cinema will illuminate this renowned Catalan festival.
This year’s edition pays tribute to one of its regular attendees, Quentin Tarantino, celebrating the 20th anniversary of Reservoir Dogs, for which he won Best Direction and Best Screenplay in 1992. The festival will hold a retrospective look at Tarantino’s work and the life that he has breathed back into so-called ‘cult cinema.’
You can also download the Programme, there is only Catalan, in which we’re sure you’re already fluent, but still very useful.
from and to Barcelona: Fantastic Train
Rodalies Renfe de Catalunya has scheduled the Fantastic Train, a special direct service connecting Sitges and Barcelona – Sants between October 4th and the 14th (in other words, the mornings of the 5th to the 15th, both dates inclusive) to make it easier to return to Barcelona after the Festival’s nighttime screenings.
The Fantastic Train will depart from the Sitges station at 1:30 on the dot, no exceptions. In the case that there is any delay in the evening screenings, the departure of this train will not be modified. Renfe and ATM tickets and passes are valid for this service, as long as they are for the number of zones required for the trip.
