During our last presentations before the finals, we were honored to have with us Clemson University Professor and Chair Emeritus Jose Caban, one of the founders of the Clemson University program in Barcelona.

Barozzi / Veiga is an architectural office devoted to architecture and urbanism, founded in 2004 in Barcelona by Fabrizio Barozzi and Alberto Veiga.

Barozzi / Veiga has won numerous prizes in national and international competitions among them, the refurbishment of the Palacio de Santa Clara in Úbeda, the Auditorioum of Águilas, the Headquarter of the D.O. Ribera del Duero in Roa, the Philharmonic Hall in Szczecin,
the Musée de Beaux-arts in Lausanne, the extension of the Bündner Kunstmuseum in Chur, the School of Music in Brunico and the Tanzhaus in Zürich.

The work of Barozzi / Veiga has been presented in different exhibitions and has been published in a wide range of specialist literature.

Barozzi / Veiga has won many international awards and citations for design excellence among them the Ajac Award 2007 granted by the College of Architects of Barcelona, the International Architecture Award “Barbara Cappochin” 2011, the Gold medal for Italian Architecture 2012 granted by the IV edition of the Triennale Milan, the Young Talent of Italian Architecture 2013 Award granted by the National Council of Architects, Planners and Landscape architects of Italy. In 2014 the studio was selected to be one of the 10 firms in this year’s Design Vanguard by the Architectural Record magazine.

Recently the studio has won the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award 2015.

Jaume Mayor with Irene Pérez forms TEd’A arquitectes, a tiny practice based in Mallorca, Spain.

TEd’A arquitectes is a workshop and an studio. TEd’A arquitectes try to move forward while looking back, without losing sight of the past and tradition. They strive to improve on tradition, our undeniable heritage. They defend the regional identities in front of the globalizing uniformism. They prefer evolution to revolution.

They have been teaching  at the ETSA Vallés (Barcelona), at the IE School (Madrid) and at the ETSA La Salle (Barcelona). They have been  invited as juries in different international schools, such as the Cornell University in Ithaca (New York) or the Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio (Switzerland).

TEd’A arquitectes has received several awards, among with stand out: shortlisted for the FAD awards 2011 and 2013, First Prize in the Mallorca Architectural awards 2011-2013, First Prize in the AJAC awards for the best built work, and also First Prize for the best non-built project. In 2014 they won the First Prize for an international competition for building a school in Orsonnens, Switzerland. Recently they have been selected as one of the finalists in the FAD awards 2016.

Fall 2016_ Netherlands

Our Fall 2016 students from Texas A&M, Clemson and Roger Williams University and Cedim went on their second field studies trip to the Netherlands guided by our professors Ivan Blasi and Anna Sala.

During this 8-day trip in 8 cities of the Netherlands: Rotterdam, The Hague, Hilversum, Delft, Zaandam, Otterlo, Utrecht, and Amsterdam, our fall 2016 students had the opportunity  to visit and study projects from architects such as Rem Koolhaas, Kees Kaan, Felix Claus, MVRDV, West 8, Enric Miralles, Mecanoo, Richard Meier, Gerrit Rietveld, Aldo van Eyck, and many others, and learning about the history and development of the Dutch urban form.

In Amsterdam, students had pleasure to visit Architekten CIE office and got chance to discover more about their Amsterdam office and local and international projects.

Scholarship Research Staff Training END ETSAV 2002-06. Associate professor at the Architecture Department since 2006 and has worked in several universities ETSAB (Barcelona), LASALLE (Barcelona), UIC (Barcelona), University of Illinois Chicago (USA), UMEA School of Architecture (Sweden) and Ku Leuven University (Belgium).

Guest lecturer at various international workshops such as “Erasmus Intesive Program ” in Norway, Ireland, Denmark, Belgium, Sweden, Poland and Catalonia.

He has been visiting professor at Auburn University Rural Studio in Alabama School of Architecture (U.S.) and assistant professor at the Barcelona Institute of Architecture BIArch 2010-2011.

Since 2000, co-founder of the dataAE. They have won several competitions in architecture and landscape. Among other prizes, they have been awarded the FAD Opinion Award in 2007 and 2015, FAD Awards finalist in 2009 and 2013, Catalonia Construction Awards 2015, finalist XII Biennial of Spanish Architecture and Urbanism in 2013 and 2016, Ex-aequo award Archmarathon Awards 2014 (Milan, Italy), AJAC awards 2012,  Sacyr’s awards for Innovation 2012,  Saie Award 2011 as the best concrete building’ (Bologna, Italy), marked ‘Green Building Challenge 2011’, selection JAE (Young Architects Españoles) 2008 .

His work has been selected in various exhibitions, such as Sensible Materia 2010-201 Lisbon, La Coruña and Berlin or the Spanish pavilion “Unfinished” the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2016.

Few weeks ago our fall16 students from Texas A&M, Clemson, Roger Williams University and Cedim experienced Madrid and Toledo in a dense 5 days study travel.
