Zeppelin nº116, Education chapter: Japanese students at Barcelona Architecture Center

We have just received a copy of July-August issue nº116 of Zeppelin, Romanian Architecture magazine, with an article published by Justin Baroncea and with photos by Jean Craiu, BAC Japan Professors, about Japanese students projects realized during the Spring 2013 course held past March at the Barcelona Architecture Center.

mARQet, Architecture festival by AJAC

This week during OCTOBER 1,2,3 visit mARQet, Architecture festival organized by AJAC, Young Architects of Catalonia Association.

On the mezzanine of the COAC Headquarters 18 groups of local architects will be presenting their work followed by conferences, Metropolis by Fritz Lang film projection, Street actions on accessibility in the Placa de la Catedral, Flash move in Passeig del Born, Landscape itinerary signed by balloons, and the music itinerary in the city center, during the three days of this week..

Check out  the 2nd Festival of Murals at La Escocesa Creation Center, Barcelona held from 25 to 29 September 2013 with grafiti artists from all around the world.. Exhibition of art pieces created during the festival and music sessions..

La Escocesa is an area of ​​residences and artistic work focused on contemporary visual arts. It currently consists of a group of 30 visual artists from different disciplines and nationalities, with a long history of regular work in the factory, high projection on the professional circuit.

some tips for this weekend in Barcelona

Dear students,

We hope that you’re enjoying your classes and your free time in Barcelona.

Here are some tips that you can do or visit this weekend.

1. FADfest 2013, The best design of the year exhibition at Disseny Hub Barcelona  opened till October 31st.

Address: Pl. de les Glòries Catalanes, 37-38

Opening hours: Tuesday – Sunday, from 10sm to 8pm. Monday is closed
Access to the exhibition is for free.

There is also guided tour of this new design museum building organized for tomorrow Sunday. You can find all the information here.

2. Right in the front of this design museum, you can visit officially opened few days ago, New Encants Market, by B720 Architects

Today Saturday there is Festa Popular organized and its opened till 8:00 p.m

3. If you feel like getting some fresh air, go for a walk to the Montjuic and check out the Guided tours of Castell of Montjuic 

Organized for free today and tomorrow, as part of the European Heritage Days program.

4.  Ai Weiwei, Never Sorry at the Filmoteca de Catalunya

Documentary about the famous Chinese artist and activist Ai Weiwei who in recent years,  has captured international attention as much for his ambitious work as his political provocations against the regime in their country.

Tonight, Saturday at 10pm at the Filmoteca , Plaça Salvador Seguí, 1

Film is in English and Mandarin with subtitles in Spanish

Tickets are 4€

Today is the last day to visit his exhibition PURE VIEWS at Arts Santa Monica Art Center
