On October 27th BAC Fall 2015 students visited OAB Ofice of Architecture in Barcelona where principal architect Carlos Ferrater, with the assistance of Miguel Roldán, lectured on the studio’s trajectory and some of its important projects.
Carlos Ferrater, together with Borja Ferrater, Lucia Ferrater and Xavier Martí founded OAB under a theoretical platform that would guide each project under a common ideology. Their work is done collaborate with a shared authorship of the whole office and a clear a symbiosis between engineering and architecture.
Projects like the Botanical garden of Barcelona, Benidorm West Beach Promenade, Mediapro office building and the AA House synthesize their capacity as an office to apply theoretical principles and engineering thought and innovation into architecture at every scale and program.
